Travel in Style: Outfit Of That Trip (#OOTT)

London 2010 @ St. James Park

One of the reasons why I can't ever *ever* pack light when travelling is deciding what to wear and which clothes to bring so I (most of the times) end up packing extra clothes in case the weather would be different to wherever I will be going or in case I change my mind on what to wear. It's a girl thing! When deciding what to wear on where, I always consider the weather and the culture of the country. There are some conservative countries, culture and people so it would be nice to wear appropriate clothes to show respect. So for this post, I'm taking a break writing stories of my travels (I still got a long list to write about) and I'm posting my favourite wear on my favourite places and I will call it #OOTT (Outfit Of That Trip).

#OOTT- LONDON
It was the start of Spring when I got to London. Cooler breeze and sunny skies. I still got my cardigan and beanies as it was still fairly cold (at least for an Asian like me). I think growing up in the tropical islands of the Philippines and having lived in Dubai made my tolerance to coldness low. For this trip, I don't know why but I have mostly worn gray and black and didn't realise how much black leggings I have!

The boots I wore have heels so it was not quite ideal for too much walking especially when you are roaming the streets of London. Their pavements are not flat so it was a bit hard to walk on. So for the next day, I have decided to wear flats.

#OOTT - BALI
Bali has captured a lot of traveller's hearts by its charm. With beautiful temples, massive rice fields and lovely sunsets, this paradise is so relaxed that you can just really let your hair down and put on those flip flops and dresses! However, some of the temples have strict attire rules and require people to cover the legs (shorts and skirts were not allowed). They do provide colourful cover ups that you can borrow before entering the temple.

#OOTT - AROUND HONG KONG
Hong Kees love fashion! Even if they're just going to the mall they are dressed up!
One of the things I miss living in Hong Kong is dressing up for Winter! Here are some photos of my favourite outfits while living and exploring the city.

#OOTT - CAMBODIA

I was feeling like a true explorer visiting the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat. I wore cropped pants because they are strict with the dress code especially inside Angkor Wat as I have mentioned in my other blog. Cambodia is generally hot so be sure to wear something light and comfy. Flat shoes or flip flops are preferable because of extensive walking.

#OOTT - DUBAI
For women, the common predicament always comes down to: "What to wear in Dubai?" or rather "What can be worn in Dubai?". It is important to be cautious on what you wear to show respect to their culture and religion. Being an Islamic country, their women are always fully clothed so to be a lady dressing differently from them is always an eye-catcher. I tried to be careful on what to wear when I was living there. But being surrounded by deserts, Dubai is hot for almost all throughout the year so it was a challenge on how to dress appropriately and comfortably, how much skin can be shown and how short the skirts or dresses can be worn. Anyway I still did have fun dressing up in Dubai and shopping there was never a problem for me. It was really very cheap.

#OOTT - AROUND ENGLAND
Spring Time in England and I got to wear a lot of beanies, leggings and boots! I loved the weather at that time. It was sunny but the breeze was so cool.

#OTTT AROUND MALAYSIA
Kuala Lumpur's weather is pretty much the same as Singapore's, generally hot. So I have worn shorts and tank top to explore the city.

However, not all parts of Malaysia are hot. Pictures taken below were from Genting Highlands, a mountain resort in Malaysia. It was fairly cold, I had to wear long sleeves and stockings.

#OTTT AROUND MACAU
I decided to wear this tube dress because  of its light material. It was summer when I first went there. Wearing flats were also ideal and comfortable because there were a lot of walking while we were exploring and the pavements are mostly made of stone.

My second trip to Macau was during Winter so I wore thicker clothes. Cold was tolerable so I didn't really need to wear a coat.

I have to admit that I still dress up when visiting tourist spots around Singapore. Here are a few photos of my favourite spots here.

Some might think outfits are not really important part of travelling but I'd say there is nothing wrong being fashionable and at the same time comfortable when exploring different places.
